I remember wearing white tights when I was younger. For the day I wore wool ones, for grave occasions silk ones. I guess white tights never got out of fashion but right now they're in again. No matter if on the streets, the catwalks of or at 'Gossip Girl' - the snowy tights are everywhere in various forms. As long as it's not this jabbing white I like nearly all especially the ones with a texture. The mean thing about these tights is the fact that they make your legs sometimes look awefully fat. Plus on some people they have this sanitary-stockings-effect (urrrgh). I hope I'm not one of these since I already spotted a few at H&M.What are you thinking about the this look?Wearble or just aweful?
P.S. Only 13 days for christmas eve left and I haven't bought any presents yet.

I think the thinner your legs, the more opaque you could go, otherwise opt for more translucent or patterned ones. It's such a great elegant look though! I love the pics you chose to showcase this trend.
I never normally like white tights but some of these pictures have really made me re-think.

I love how thorough you are with your image referencing. It's so good!
Regarding white tights, it's not a flattering colour for most people so I think they need to be textured or sheer for them to work. Matte/opaque white doesn't give the legs enough contour and definition.

I've had a pair of white tights for about 4 years. I've never worn them or even considered it, I just aquired them because my friend wore them to a fancy dress as an angel and I couldn't bear to hear her say she was just throwing them away afterwards. I mean you never know when something could come in handy..

Not too opaque! and off white is nice, a little shine gives a longer leg look. I generally associate white tights with little girls so they do not give a mature look in my opinion. The japanese lolita look...case in point
